Story Five: Charles Simeon (1759–1836)

Kings College

This stop takes place at Kings College and explains the life of Charles Simeon who was a student at the college. After his studies he got the job as the vicar at Holy Trinity church and became a famous preacher. He also worked hard in the community, finding out who was in need. He realised that he could not do this on his own and set up a team of visitors to help him care for his congregation. His idea continues in churches today.

Children will have the opportunity to take part in an activity to learn a verse from one of his sermons.
