Human Rights Footprints walk

Staff from Cherry Hinton Primary School enjoyed a thought provoking Human Rights Footprints walk on 18th October. This was part of a team building exercise with the new headteacher. The walk was carried out with the Church Schools Projects Officer – Victoria Goodman who explained who Christians in Cambridge have made a huge contribution to human rights in local, national and international arenas. The walk explores their perseverance in the face of adversity, and the length of time needed for their campaigns to succeed. It explains the relevance of these past human rights campaigns to the world we live in today.

Staff were treated to food and refreshments at the end of the walk, which was funded by the Church Schools of Cambridge.

St Lukes Mosaic

Children at St Lukes Church of England Primary School have created a large Mosaic shown below for the school entrance.

This exciting project involved children and parents at the school. The children were involved in the design as well as the construction as they were all able to lay pieces of the mosaic. It incorporates the updated school values which were decided together with the children and their parents.

The project was funded by the Church Schools of Cambridge and the Director and several Trustees visited the school to meet with the head and children for the unveiling in September.

Foundation Governors – our schools need you

The Trust appoint half of the Foundation Governors that make up the governing body at Park Street, St Pauls and St Philips, with the other half appointed by the Diocese of Ely. We also appoint community governors at St Lukes (as DEMAT school).

Foundation Governors take on the normal governor duties, but also have a specific concern for governing the ethos of a school. In Church of England schools they have a particular concern for maintaining the Christian ethos, as well as Collective Worship and RE provision.

We are always looking for individuals who would be interested in taking up this role.  If you would like to learn more about the Foundation Governor role and how to apply, please contact the Trust at[email protected].
