We run and resource a range of events and activities on themes of Christian ethos, RE, spirituality and collective worship which are open to all primary schools in the Cambridge area. These include:
Exhibitions/workshops – Trust-led exhibitions for children to learn more about aspects of faith. The exhibitions currently run twice a year and are hosted by a Cambridge church. We have also developed themed workshops that take place at Easter and Pentacost. All our events are advertised on our diary page and material from previous events are on our resources page.
Footprints of Faith – These are self-guided walks around Cambridge city centre suitable for children of primary or secondary school age. They are designed to help children learn more about the history of Cambridge and the influence of Christian thinkers. The current themes are Science, Human Rights and Catholic impact. Further ones are in development. For more information, please visit the Footprints of Faith site.
We support Shout Aloud which is a children’s choir based in Cambridge at St Philip’s Church in Mill Road. It is free and meets weekly during term time to perform a variety of music, including pop, jazz, gospel and world music. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The Trust also manages the Jesus Lane Sunday School Endowment Trust, which provides small grants to churches within Cambridge to support their work with children and links with schools. These grants are awarded annually and open to all churches in Cambridge. Please contact us if you are interested in finding out more.
We also give Bibles and Scripture Union’s ‘It’s Your Move’ booklets to all Year 6 pupils at the 10 Church Schools in and around Cambridge, which are: St Luke’s, St Philip’s, St Paul’s, Park Street, Cherry Hinton, Great & Little Shelford, Coton, Oakington, Teversham and Milton
